Dragonfruit.
picked one up on a lark in chinatown… unbelievably delicious, and very different. somewhat like an amped up kiwi, but with a very bready texture.
Co-motion with honjo fenders
Finally got the fenders installed. The Honjos in combination with the Rohloff were a total bear to work with. The Rohloff, as it is, is installed in a somewhat compromised/hackish manner (cable routing is an issue, the way the tension arm is attached is an issue, etc.)
I’m eventually going to need to have the bike somewhat reworked in order to be able to get everything working properly — the lack of cantilever brakes is a huge pain in the ass for tire/fender clearance, and I’d like to have a more permanent cable routing solution than what I’ve got now, but it’s working for the time being.
Overall, the Rohloff in particular is really satisfying, and the Co-Motion has been great as well — really smooth riding bike. I’ve got around 1000 miles on the Rohloff, and I’ve got to admit I’d much prefer to run a system like that than a derailleur system, given the option. Unfortunately, the hubs are fairly expensive so that isn’t really likely to work. Too bad!
